This year, I had many plans for Colours & Flavours – develop content plans, create new resource guides and perhaps write a book. But a lot of that didn’t happen. Sometimes, I feel bad about it especially because I want to do it and I love it. However, my year went differently than I planned, in a good way.

I resumed my corporate work in January and got very involved in serving at my church. Although I had some free time in between, I chose to rest. Maybe I overdid it on the resting part and could have pushed myself to do more but it’s been a productive year.

I couldn’t do everything I wished to do but God put me to work in other ways. Now, I’m learning to be content with that. My productivity may look different in certain seasons and that’s okay as long as it pleases God.

As my Pastor defined,

“Success is being where God would have you be, to do what God would have you do.”

Like me, keep this in mind as you review how you spent your year and plan for the one ahead.

It’s beautiful when you align with God for each season instead of wrongly holding on to what you wish for the season. Ultimately, the goal is to allow God’s desires to become ours too. That way, each season is purposeful however it plays out.
