Beautiful podcast, this was for me .
I agree it’s based on agreement between both parties in the relationship.
I don’t have anything against people who do display their relationship. It’s your choice. I am also not here to judge them. I will however, explain to you why I personally decided not to expose my relationship on my social media. I’ve seen it, not all your followers will wear their hearts on their sleeves when they comment on one of your photos or couple photos. Certain people are just patiently waiting for your downfall, your breakup, so they can break the slightly too perfect image you portray, or to make them feel less crappy in front of your failure, When everything is going well they don’t bother commenting on any photos and suffer in silence, but then as soon as there is a problem, they are the first to comment.
Simply put. I’ll rather keep my relationship private just to mute all the noise around.
I’ve had past experiences where my partner was the social media freak who wanted to update the world on every detail happening at the time. I just couldn’t bear living like that.
I’ll choose a low-key life anytime.
Muting the noise around is a good thing as long as you rightly define what noise it.
Thanks for sharing, Henry. I’m glad the podcast was helpful too.
I don’t see the point of sharing.
A relationship is between two people.
Most times people share to show others
“See I’m very happy”
if you have to prove that you’re “happy” to a bunch of strangers online.
Are you really happy?
Sharing your relationship just to impress others isn’t the best motive.
Thanks for sharing, Dayo.
Love love love this one Oyinkan!
Very solid points made that I totally agree with.
I say that everyone has a right to decide whether or not their relationship goes to the public eye, I.e social media
But personally, there’s something so sacred about this part of my life that I’d honestly rather keep away from the public critic and opinion, particularly in this courtship stage. There’s too much being formed that I need little or no voices from random people giving advise that may not be needed. It is such a satisfying place. Time to post and post about each other will come and it’ll be bliss!
Once all the people that need to be aware are aware, that does it for me, including parents, mentors, close friends and siblings on both sides.
Not to be cheeky too but a reminder that “everything glorious hides behind a veil”. Haha!
Thanks for this hun! You outdid yourself ❤️
Very well said, Rubie. 💯
Thanks a lot for sharing and for the beautiful comment. Really appreciate it.❤️ 😁
I will definitely choose the low-key option day in and out. Although my partner doesn’t mind the public display. This is where the wisdom you mentioned comes in. Divine wisdom I shall consistently pray for!
Thank you sweetheart.
I’m sure you guys will find a good balance!
Thanks for engaging, Mayowa.💛
