When I see lovers use certain words like “stupid”, “idiot” or “bighead” on their partner, I think to myself, ‘really?’. My mind just wouldn’t think it’s okay to say such words, especially to someone you say you love. So, I thought it would be nice to discuss pet names and words appropriate for lovers.
In a romantic relationship, should you carefully choose your words to your partner? Does it matter what pet names you call your partner? When joking, can you say anything you feel like? Besides, what you say does not necessarily affect how you feel about your partner. Is itย a big deal?
On this episode, I shared my thoughts on this and backed them up with good reasons.
Listen, learn and enjoy!

I’ll love to know your thoughts as well. Please, share with me in the comment section.
โ Are you sensitive about the pet names and words your partner uses on you?
โ Do pet names and words between lovers matter or is anything allowed?
One more thing, remember to share this post with your friends. Thanks!

Yes, words matter. Also I love (good) words, so it matters more to me. Interesting @ โbig headโ, Iโve not thought of that one like that๐ค
Thanks for engaging, Dipo.
As mentioned in the episode, it’s easy to cross the line to being hurtful to your partner. So, it’s better to be safe and use better alternatives.
Loved Listening to this, thanks for sharing Oyikansola. I totally agree with you with regards the names we choose to call our partners, I can’t lie, the other flip side is that some pet names are so cringyyy but I mean, if it rocks their boats, why not?! My partner calls me ‘sunshine’ and I don’t know if anything melts my heart more and He often tells me that it was not just a pet name, but a reflection of what came when I came into His life, so for me, its the meaning behind what I’m being called and not just giving me a pet name for pet name sake!
I think it is important we call them what we want to see in them, this way, God honours our words and everyone lives peaceably. Thanks again for sharing, I’ll save what I call my partner for his ears alone, *wink* haha!
My pleasure, Rubie. ๐ Thanks a lot for the lovely comment too and I agree with your points.

Haha, it would sound weird because there is a story behind it, but yea, I’ll share it with you privately one of these days, and it is always my pleasure, so thank you too xx
No problem then, I’ll look forward to that. ๐
