I heard unpleasant stories about pregnancy and childbirth long before I got married, but I knew I wanted a beautiful experience and could have one. So when I got married, I became more intentional about what I exposed myself to on these topics. I focused on encouraging stories from other Christian mums and learning how to enjoy being a godly mum.

Here are 5 pregnancy & motherhood books that I read as a first-time mum

These books helped to shape my positive mindset on pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood. The first four books contain personal stories and advice from Christian women. You’ll laugh, learn and get many reminders that you can trust God with these things.

The last book focuses on practical tips and advice for navigating pregnancy and motherhood while building a career or business in the UK. It’s useful for the journey before, during and after you become a mum.

5 Pregnancy & Motherhood Books I Read As A First-time Mum

  1. Pregnancy and Nose-Picking Have the Same PR Agency by Adeboro Odunlami – Buy on the author’s website
  2. My Dad was right about Pregnancies by Aramide Kayode – Buy on Selar
  3. Dear New Mama by Joy Ayuwo – Buy on Selar
  4. Supernatural Childbirth: Experiencing the Promises of God Concerning Conception and Delivery by Jackie Mize – Buy on Amazon
  5. The Blend: How to Successfully Manage a Career and a Family by Tobi Asare – Buy on Amazon

Bonus: I also enjoyed reading Snap Back: Reclaiming My Body, Mind and Life After Childbirth by Joyce Adegoke. It’s not on the list because I couldn’t find the relevant purchase information.

I hope these books encourage you to expect and curate a beautiful experience for yourself as you navigate pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood as a Christian woman. Above all else, look into God’s Word. Let it renew your mind and influence your words about giving birth and caring for your children.

Rooting for you!
