💕 This Can Save Your Marriage
One piece of marriage advice you often hear is to avoid involving third parties in your marriage. While people might say this with good intentions, it can unintentionally make couples feel like they have to be silent when they’re going through challenging seasons in their marriage. So what then do you do?
I heard a pastor and a marriage clinician offer a better alternative to that advice. He said, “Involve help parties in your marriage.”
A third party could be anyone, whether they have good intentions, bad intentions, or they might even be indifferent to the well-being of your marriage. But a help party is committed to helping you and your spouse make your marriage work.
This could be a marriage mentor, a counsellor, or a coach. A help party helps you resolve issues in your marriage or even put in the structures to avoid issues from happening in the first place.
So while you say no to third parties, involve help parties in your marriage. Prayerfully choose someone. In the multitude of the right counsel, there is safety.
